SBH presents Stewardship Award to Senator Sheldon Whitehouse

The Save Bristol Harbor Joe Arruda Environmental Stewardship Award is given in memory of Joe; a fellow board member and passionate advocate for preserving and protecting our environment.

This year’s award will be presented at the annual meeting of the membership on October 11 at 6pm at Judge Roy Bean’s on the second floor.

The recipient of the 2018 award is Senator Sheldon Whitehouse who has been fighting for solutions to address climate change, position RI as a leader in the clean energy economy and protect our ocean and coasts for future generations to come.

Bristol is uniquely vulnerable to the effects of climate change.  Rising sea levels and extreme storms threaten our economy, our infrastructure, our homes and the quality of our lives here in Rhode Island.

The Senator is steadfast in the fight for legislation to cut carbon pollution, promote sustainable energy as well as working to hold polluters accountable. Save Bristol Harbor believes that Senator Whitehouse has demonstrated exceptional environment stewardship in his tenure in Washington.
